First, some background:
This picture appears to be dated on 8/9/2006. It is the first time that Janna went pee-pee on the potty. It was a huge even in our house - and we were SURE that it meant the end of diapers.

When you prepare to have a baby, you never stop to think about all the painful times. For example - potty training. Janna is officially 100% done with diapers. We finally "finished" (as in, she's gone 3 days without having any diapers - even at night - and hasn't had an accident in over a week). This is....what...a year and a half later?
Anyhow, back when that picture was taken, we promised Janna a trip to see the "big fishies" (aka, Sea World) when she had "no more diapers." Now, had I any INKLING that I would be waiting THIS LONG, I probably wouldn't have ever made the deal. However, once we'd agreed - I couldn't go back. Truthfully, I had heard such good things about taking small kids to see Sea World I would have LOVED to go ages back. As they say...good things come to those who WAIT (and wait...and wait....)
Here's us at the start of the day - don't we look so alert? We're waiting for the Dolphin show to start.
This trip sort of brought out the kid in me. In Honolulu, they have a marine park called "Sea Life Park." We used to go there for field trips all the time. I loved that place, and being back at Sea World (and around all those magnificent animals), made me remember what it was like as an elementary school student.
Petting stingrays.
At Dolphin cove. So amazing to be within inches of these creatures.
This would be SUCH a great picture if it didn't look like my son was picking his nose...
Shamu's show. Unfortunately, Janna did not make it through. Not 5 minutes in she was asking to leave. Poor kid was EXHAUSTED. She had woken up at 2:44 that morning trying to convince me that it was time to go. I got her back to sleep, but I don't think she ever recovered from it.
Note the new "friend." She got a special Dolphin to remember the day.
