Which will be a "daddy and kids" trip in the future. It turns out, I still hate bowling.

Cloth Diapers!
I keep cloth diapers on hand for spills, as their amazingly absorbent nature really is invaluable in the home. Jeff was only able to find one safety pin, which mean the other side was being held on by a binder clip.
Hey, Jeff gets points for creativity - if nothing else.

Tropical Storm Faye Photos
Patio covered in Pine needles.
Pools of water in our moody table cover.
Future mosquito home - just built!
That little red light in the distance in actually a siren/light combo that lets everyone know that your PEP tank (pseudo septic tank) is backed up. Happens every time we have a hard rain with someone on the block.

Newly installed swimming pool, courtesy of Faye. Ain't she nice?

We just got a wading pool.
There's what's left of the tree.
You can see the top half behind this vine-ridden log.
And that vine-ridden log is actually the bottom part of this tree.
And these are the tree's roots.
This is our drainage system for the street. It was far more swollen just an hour before - when we were getting the bad rains.
These are the plastic borders for the landscaping. They were creating a swimming pool in front of the house so Jeff ran outside and pulled them. Actually, Faye did us a huge favor. In dry land - these are impossible to get out. In wet sand, they were a piece of cake.
All in all, we did okay. I've been off since Wednesday. Jeff got off early Tuesday, all day Wednesday, early yesterday, and started late today. He'll have to work tomorrow. We were only without power for short spurts yesterday, and I was able to keep the house cool by cranking down the AC while the power was off. No damage to the house - we kept the cars in the garage.
Everyone is fine - we're all ready to get out of the house!

VBS
Sorry about the quality of the pictures - love the church, can't stand trying to take pictures in it.
Janna went through her first week of VBS this year. She loved EVERY second of it, and JR even got in on the action too.

They're doing the "twist" to one of the songs, over the speakers, the lyrics are "He is Lord, Lord, Lord!" They had dances to all of the songs. My favorite was the Power song, where Janna makes "muscles" with her arms.
I can hardly wait until the CD gets here.

Summer Portland Trip
Here are the photos from our Portland trip; we got home on 7/26.
The Portland Zoo, with Auntie Janel (antie nelle), Jonah, and Dylan:

I think she's actually trying to gallop below.

After the zoo, with Jonah.
Views from the OHSU aerial tram.

In Granny and Pop-Pop's backyard garden:

Back at Auntie Nelle and Uncle Scott's house. When JR and Janna got into the Jeep, JR put his arm around Janna and kept it there the whole time. It was too cute.

On the MAX train to the Children's Museum.
At the Children's Museum. This was SUCH a fun place to take the kids. Janna was immediately attracted to playing "doctor" with the babies, JR wanted to Dig and play in the construction zone.

Digging after some prodding (she went back to doctoring shortly after).
He wasn't interested in the babies, but he'll drive an ambulance like Uncle Scott!
LOVE this picture!
Playing in the water zone.

And finally, the grocery store (JR started to melt down here).

Chillin' at the Farmer's Market.

On the rocks at Mcmenamins.

Last day in Portland, at the fair.

This picture CRACKS me up. JR HATED the baby coaster. He went around once, and looked horrified. The second time, this is what we saw:

One little, two little, three little babies (the kids with their cousin).
Oh, and Tara this is ode to a car, by Quinn.
